New Shoes

Went to Volco Tires & Wheels Vancouver to mount my Yoko’s on the Circuit 10’s.

$15. plus tax to mount and balance 15” wheels & under.  Included valve stem. Pretty decent price and comparable (maybe a couple dollars more) to Tire Rack’s recommended installers in Bellingham.  But the location was conveniently near my mothers’ garage and their service was pretty good.  Even though I didn’t buy from them, they took off my stockers and installed them on the Fit for me.  AND as indicated on packaging of my lug nuts, they hand torqued them! No air tools.

Although I’m still using the stock tire size of 195/55R15, the Yokohama S.drive’s are wider than the Bridgestone Turanza’s. The stance has been improved. The GD3 looks awesome!

UPDATE (15-Sep-11):

The front tires rub on occasion on the edge of the plastic fender liner.  Fortunately, it’s not very often.. usually deep dips or bumps at speed or hard turns. Rear clearance is fine and I’ve had the car loaded.

Summer Tires

Picked up my new tires today from Blaine!

I purchased them from the TireRack 26-Aug-11. They arrived 31-Aug-11 as scheduled.  $312. for a set of four, plus $52. shipping. Plus receiving charges and HST (at the border) it worked out to $106. a tire.  Compared to the best I could find locally at $133./tire (taxes in).

Tires are YOKOHAMA S.drive in 195/55R15.  The Tire Rack classifies them as Ultra High Performance Summer.  We shall see.  :^)
