New Shift Boot & E-Brake Cover

I decided to pick up the T1R (Type One Racing) Suede Shift Boot and Leather/Suede E-brake Cover, both with blue stitching.  I initially considered red stitching but decided to go with the blue as it matched the interior dials, etc. better.  I bought it from A&J Racing on 13-Apr-13.

Installation of the new shift boot was done with the removal of the centre console.  The console has two pop pins in the front and two philips screws in the back.  A plastic piece must also be popped out from under the e-brake cover. With the e-brake engaged, I just popped the back part up with my fingers. Then I lifted the console up a bit so I can get my hands & fingers under the sides and popped out the front part of this piece. I did it this way as prying it up with a screwdriver or something would probably damage the plastics. I did not have to remove the plugs for the accessory outlet or the AUX cable.  I simply tilted the console up from the back to get access to the bottom of the shift boot. The album page has more detailed pics of the install.

The OEM shift ring is screwed into the console from the bottom. Removing the console made removing the stock rubber boot much easier and ensured it was not damaged.  The E-brake cover was simply slipped on. Less than 30 minutes of work from start to finish.

I like it.
