We stopped for a night in Portland, Oregon on the way back from the Bay Area. This was taken at “The Grotto”. We went to Sunday mass in the church here. It’s the National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother. www.thegrotto.org
The picture shows the outdoor mass area. In the back is the Lady’s Grotto, carved from solid basalt in the cliff wall in 1925. Above the natural rock alter is the white marble replica of Michelangelo’s, the Pieta.
